TITLE:
Helper
JOB DESCRIPTION:
MTL Contractors is looking for a motivated helper to join our team. Experience or knowledge of renovations is a bonus, but not required. If you have a good attitude and are in good shape, this may be a good opportunity to learn as you go with on-site training.
Opportunity for advancement as you pickup skills by being on the job sites with skilled tradespeople.
We are RBQ licensed general contractors who specialize in interior residential bathroom and kitchen renovations in Montreal.
This is a full time permanent position. The position includes CNESST health and safety coverage, direct deposit paychecks with source deductions, paid statutory holidays, paid vacation that increases annually, uniform (company shirts, hoodies, etc) provided.

REMUNERATION:
$16-$22/hr with opportunities for advancement, Monday to Friday day shift, working indoors, possibility of company vehicle use
REQUIRED ABILITIES:
-Live in Montreal
-Legal ability to work in Quebec
-Valid driver's license
-A vehicle in good running condition
-Ability to show up on time;
-Ability to follow verbal or written instructions;
-Ability to work alone or with others;
-Ability to learn the names of tools and materials quickly;
-Manual dexterity;
-Good physical condition for the duties of the position (This position requires manual and physical dexterity and stamina. Tasks will at times include lifting materials weighing 66 pounds, work on ladders, etc)
EXAMPLES OF TASKS:
-Keeping the job sites clean (sweep, vacuum, removing scrap material)
-Keeping the tools organized (on site, in the trucks, at the shop)
-Picking up material at suppliers and delivering it to jobsites
-Preparation and protection of the job site (putting up plastic walls, taping down floor protection, taping up plastic doors, etc)
-Helping tradespeople as needed in tasks like carpentry (carpentry experience not required)
As general contractors, we handle the preparation, rough carpentry, and trimwork. We subcontract various phases of construction to specialist contractors (plumbing, electrical, ceramic, cabinetry, etc).
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
-Traveling to supplier to pickup materials and delivering them to the job site
-Sweeping and vacuuming job sites
-Loading/unloading tools at job sites
-Organizing tools in Milwaukee packouts in the truck
-Organizing tools on jobsites
-Putting up plastic walls and putting down floor protection with masking tape
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
(a) Construction/renovation experience not required, but it is a bonus
